“A transformative leadership platform for women law students to champion legal reforms and social justice in Uttarakhand.”
About National Legal Rights Consortium
The National Legal Rights Consortium (NLRC) is an integral wing of the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI). WICCI stands as a premier National Business Chamber for women, dedicated to creating a global impact for women entrepreneurs, businesswomen, and professionals across all sectors. By representing a diverse array of industries and societal segments, WICCI amplifies the voices of thousands of women, ensuring they have a seat at the table in economic and policy discussions.
The NLRC-WICCI specifically focuses on the legal infrastructure that supports women’s rights and professional growth. The consortium operates on the belief that legal empowerment is a prerequisite for economic independence. Through its state-level bodies, like the Uttarakhand Legal Rights Consortium, it works to decentralize leadership and create grassroots movements led by women. This network of legal professionals and students collaborates to monitor rights violations, advocate for legislative amendments, and foster a supportive ecosystem where justice is accessible to all women, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
About the Membership Opportunity
The Uttarakhand Legal Rights Consortium is inviting applications for its 2026-27 term. This Membership Opportunity is specifically curated for female law students who possess a deep-seated drive to protect constitutional and legal rights. Each state consortium operates with a structured leadership team comprising a President, a Vice President, and a minimum of 20 dedicated members.
The primary objective of this term is to engage in high-impact legal activism and community support. Members will work on a multifaceted mandate that includes:
- Legal Advocacy: Participating in state-level initiatives to reform and improve existing rights frameworks.
- Public Awareness: Educating the masses about their legal entitlements to bridge the “awareness gap.”
- Pro Bono Support: Facilitating legal assistance through a network of community advocates for those in need.
