About Youth Break the Boundaries
Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB Foundation) is a global youth organisation that runs international programmes to develop leadership, encourage collaboration across cultures and support youth-led projects. Its programmes include the Japan Youth Summit, Korea Youth Summit and Istanbul Youth Summit.
About the Opportunity
Japan Youth Summit 2027 is an international youth summit and innovative project competition organised by Youth Break the Boundaries. The theme is “Youth Innovation for a World Without Limits”. Participants work in multicultural teams to develop and present projects addressing Sustainable Development Goals.
The programme combines project presentations, an international symposium, mentoring and cultural activities. Outstanding participants and projects receive awards, while confirmed delegates receive a participation certificate.

Funding and Registration Fee
The fully funded selection covers the programme fee for successful delegates, including hotel accommodation, scheduled meals, local transport during the event, seminar materials and scheduled airport transfers. Airfare, visas and personal expenses are excluded.
The fully funded application requires a registration fee of USD 10 (IDR 188,000). Funding is competitive and depends on essay review and interview results. An invitation letter alone does not confirm a funded place.
Applicants requesting visa-support documents before the interview stage must pay the first programme-fee instalment. This is reimbursed if they are selected for funding. Read the guideline for the complete payment and reimbursement conditions.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be aged 15–40 years.
- All nationalities and academic backgrounds are eligible.
- Applicants must never have been convicted of a crime or be affiliated with an extremist organisation.
- IELTS or TOEFL is not required.
Essay Requirements
Submit an English essay of no more than 800 words proposing an innovative youth-led project to address a future challenge. Choose one focus: quality education; industry, innovation and infrastructure; sustainable cities and communities; responsible consumption and production; or climate action.

Application Procedure
Create an account through the fully funded registration portal, complete the personal and professional profile sections, upload the required documents and essay, and fulfil the mandatory campaign-sharing requirements. Pay the registration fee, wait for successful payment verification and click the final Submit button by December 20, 2026.
Shortlisted applicants must submit the required declaration letter before their interview. Confirmed delegates must attend pre-orientation and mentoring sessions.
