About the Opportunity

The KYC Operations Analyst 1 role is an entry-level position supporting Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, governance, oversight and regulatory reporting activities in coordination with the Compliance and Control team.

The selected candidate will assist with creating, reviewing and completing KYC Records, researching information from internal and external sources, validating corporate and ownership information, and ensuring KYC workflows meet applicable regulatory and internal requirements.

The role is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

The role covers Know Your Client (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), compliance, regulatory requirements, risk and control functions.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates with 0–2 years of experience in banking, finance or law.
• Experience in a control, risk or Compliance (AML/KYC) function is an advantage.
• Knowledge of European Union regulatory KYC/AML requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree, university degree or equivalent experience.
• ACAMS certification is an advantage.
• Candidates should be flexible enough to work as per business timings.

Roles & Responsibilities

Compliance

• Create KYC Records in the KYC system using information sourced from internal and external sources within agreed deadlines.
• Complete KYC Records in accordance with local regulatory requirements, global BSU standards and policies.
• Validate information in KYC Records and CIP documents, including company or entity formation documents, ownership and management information.
• Take responsibility for KYC Records and associated documentation from initiation through approval.
• Escalate negative news and high-risk cases to Relationship Management, PAM and AML Compliance teams.
• Assist with departmental projects as required.

Legal Research

• Review internal and external sources for company news and relevant information, including firm websites, regulatory websites, company websites, Dun & Bradstreet and Google.
• Conduct research to support KYC Record preparation and review.

Case Management

• Interact proactively with relationship management teams and compliance to update KYC systems until final approval.
• Maintain the BSU tool and demonstrate work carried out.
• Keep KYC workflow tools updated, including mandatory fields, status and commentary.
• Meet agreed daily targets for KYC Record review and completion within Service Level Agreement timeframes.
• Update workflow databases regularly throughout the day.
• Highlight discrepancies to Senior Case Managers, the Control Team and Section Managers.
• Report workflow progress to the supervisor.

Reporting

• Manage upward communication through huddle updates, escalations and reporting of issues or concerns.
• Track and report daily time logs for Case Managers and Case Researchers.
• Monitor operational metrics required for management-level reporting.
