About the Opportunity
Umbrella Legal is inviting applications from motivated and curious students looking to gain practical experience in legal advisory, intellectual property, commercial transactions, and innovation-driven legal practice. The firm is currently accepting applications for internships across Patent Law & Intellectual Property Rights, Media & Entertainment Law, Commercial Contracts, and Legal Research & Advisory.
Mode
The internship will be conducted in physical (onsite) mode.
Location
The internship will be based at the firm’s office in Andheri West, Mumbai.
Duration
The internship will be for a minimum period of 3 months.
Eligibility Criteria
For IP (excluding patents), M&E and legal research, students pursuing LL.B. or B.A. LL.B. (pre-final and final year students) may apply.
For Patents, students pursuing or holding qualifications in B.Tech, B.E., M.Tech, M.E., B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. or related technical and scientific disciplines may apply. Candidates with backgrounds in engineering, technology, computer science, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences or related fields will be preferred.
Roles & Responsibilities
Selected interns will gain hands-on exposure to:
- Patent searches, prior art analysis, and patent prosecution support.
- Intellectual property protection and advisory matters.
- Contract drafting, review, and negotiations.
- Media & Entertainment law assignments.
- Legal research and drafting.
- Commercial and regulatory advisory work.
The firm is looking for candidates with strong analytical, research, and drafting skills, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in the practice areas mentioned above. Prior internship experience in relevant fields would be an added advantage.
