The Ministry of Corporate Affairs invites applications for the Prime Minister Internship Scheme 2026 to provide structured industry exposure across India.

About the Prime Minister Internship Scheme 2026

The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) 2026 is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, introduced to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical industry experience.

Conceptualised under the Union Budget 2024–25, the scheme aims to enhance employability among young graduates by offering structured internship opportunities in leading corporate organisations, public sector institutions, and regulatory bodies across India. The programme is implemented through a dedicated digital portal that enables candidates to explore sector-wise opportunities aligned with their educational background and professional interests.

The scheme supports capacity building through real-world exposure to governance, compliance, business operations, and regulatory frameworks, thereby helping candidates transition effectively from academic environments to professional settings.

About the Opportunity

The Prime Minister Internship Scheme 2026 provides selected candidates with the opportunity to work with recognised host organisations across multiple sectors, including corporate governance, finance, compliance, infrastructure, administration, legal services, and regulatory institutions.

Interns will gain structured exposure to organisational workflows, project-based assignments, and practical professional responsibilities under the supervision of experienced mentors. The programme aims to strengthen professional readiness and equip participants with industry-relevant skills through sustained engagement over a twelve-month period.

The scheme also promotes inclusive participation by encouraging applications from candidates belonging to underrepresented social groups while maintaining uniform eligibility criteria for all applicants.

Nature of Work Responsibilities and Exposure

Selected interns will work on assigned projects within participating host organisations across sectors such as governance support, regulatory compliance, documentation processes, research assignments, operational coordination, and administrative workflows.

Depending on placement, candidates may contribute to data analysis tasks, preparation of institutional reports, compliance documentation, stakeholder coordination activities, and programme implementation support. Law graduates and legal-background candidates may receive exposure to regulatory interpretation, compliance monitoring, and policy-support environments within participating organisations.

The internship is designed to familiarise candidates with professional work culture, organisational reporting systems, and structured project execution environments across public and private sector institutions.
