The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) is a premier think tank functioning under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. The institute supports policy development, regulatory research, and capacity-building initiatives relating to corporate law, governance frameworks, insolvency systems, ESG compliance, competition policy, and institutional reforms affecting the corporate sector.
IICA works closely with government departments, statutory authorities, regulatory institutions, and industry stakeholders in developing research-backed policy recommendations and training programmes. Interns selected under the programme gain exposure to institutional research environments and public policy processes connected with corporate regulation in India.
The internship programme is structured to provide practical engagement with research projects undertaken across different schools, centres, and departments within the institute.
About the Internship
The IICA Internship Programme provides law students and young professionals an opportunity to work on research assignments and policy-oriented institutional projects under the supervision of designated mentors within the institute.
Selected interns may assist in preparing background research notes, drafting policy support materials, contributing to institutional reports, and participating in capacity-building initiatives undertaken by the organisation. Interns may also engage with interdisciplinary research areas connected with corporate affairs, governance reforms, and regulatory developments.
Assignments are allocated depending on institutional requirements and project availability during the internship period.
Eligibility Criteria
Students pursuing three-year or five-year LL.B. programmes are eligible to apply, with preference generally given to candidates in their final year of study. Applications are also invited from students belonging to related disciplines such as management and economics.
Young professionals who have completed their academic programmes within the previous six months may also apply for the internship. Applicants must not be engaged in any employment during the internship period.
Mode
This is a hybrid internship and may involve both in-office and remote work depending on institutional requirements.
Location
The internship is based at the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, IMT Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana.
Duration
The duration of the internship ranges from a minimum of one month to a maximum of six months and may be extended depending on performance and institutional requirements.
Stipend
Selected interns may receive a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month subject to satisfactory performance. In cases where accommodation is provided by the institute, the stipend may be reduced to Rs 5,000 per month. In certain situations, internships may also be offered on an unpaid basis depending on programme requirements.
Number of Positions
Up to 10 interns are selected each month under the programme, with the possibility of extension up to 15 interns depending on institutional needs.
