About the Opportunity
The Legal and Debt Recovery Intern will support NW Realite’s Internal Legal Counsel with legal, administrative and debt recovery work. The role is based in the Legal Department and reports to the Internal Legal Counsel. The internship offers practical exposure to legal matters in a commercial real estate environment, including litigation support, lease administration, contract documentation and credit control. Work will be carried out under supervision and will involve coordination with internal departments, external advocates and other stakeholders.

The internship is located in Nairobi, Kenya.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants should have completed or be in the final year of a Diploma in Law, Paralegal Studies or a related field.
- Exposure to legal support, litigation or conveyancing through an attachment or internship is an added advantage.
- Candidates should have a basic understanding of debt collection, credit control or accounts receivable.
- Applicants should have strong communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, attention to detail and professional integrity.
- Knowledge of court procedures and debt recovery mechanisms, and an eagerness to learn, are relevant to the role.
Roles & Responsibilities
The intern will assist with preparing legal documents, demand letters, settlement agreements and lease documentation. Duties also include supporting litigation matters, preparing court filings and coordinating with external advocates. The role involves following up with debtors, tracking agreed repayment plans, monitoring overdue accounts and helping prepare recovery reports in liaison with Finance. The intern will also maintain legal records and case files in line with company policies.
