About the Opportunity
NW Realite Ltd is hiring a Legal and Debt Recovery Intern to support the Internal Legal Counsel with legal, administrative, litigation, lease documentation and debt recovery activities. The intern will report to the Internal Legal Counsel.
This is an excellent opportunity for a law or paralegal student or recent graduate to build practical skills in legal support and credit control.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide legal, administrative and debt recovery support to the Internal Legal Counsel.
- Assist in drafting legal documents, demand letters, settlement agreements and lease documentation.
- Support litigation matters, including preparing court filings and coordinating with external advocates.
- Assist in following up with debtors and tracking agreed repayment plans.
- Monitor overdue accounts and help prepare recovery reports in liaison with Finance.
- Maintain legal records and case files in line with company policies.
Eligibility Criteria
- Diploma in Law, Paralegal Studies or a related field (completed or final year)
- Attachment or internship exposure in legal support, litigation or conveyancing is an added advantage
- Basic understanding of debt collection, credit control or accounts receivable
- Ability to assist in drafting legal documents and demand letters under supervision
- Foundational knowledge of court procedures and debt recovery mechanisms
- Strong communication skills, MS Office proficiency and high professional integrity
- Attention to detail and eagerness to learn
Location
The internship will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
