About NMIMS Law Review

SVKM’s NMIMS is a privately deemed university located in Mumbai. NMIMS Law Review is the flagship law journal of NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, Mumbai, established with the objective of providing a forum for students to engage in quality legal discourse that captures the zeitgeist of contemporary legal issues. The journal strives to promote and foster a culture of serious academic research and writing, and submissions of an interdisciplinary nature analysing contemporary legal issues are encouraged.

About the Call

Through this call for papers, NMIMS Law Review is inviting manuscripts for Volume IX (2026-27) of its Journal and Blog. The remit of the journal is not just limited to any particular area of law, and submissions analysing contemporary legal issues are encouraged.

Categories for Publication

  • Book Review (2,000-4,000 words): a crisp account of recently published books with respect to the themes, including the issues explored and the author’s related arguments.
  • Case Notes & Comments (1,500-3,000 words): a pivotal assessment of any recent or landmark judicial pronouncement, legislation or bill.
  • Short Articles (3,000-5,000 words): an in-depth study of more specific issues, giving the reader an insight into the legal issue identified by the author.
  • Long Articles (5,000-8,000 words): a comprehensive analysis of a contemporary legal issue, indicating the lacunae or holistically covering the subject matter while offering a critical analysis of the chosen theme.

Themes for Publication

Submissions may fall within the following main themes (including, but not limited to):

  • Business Law
  • Intellectual Property Law
  • Constitutional Law
  • Criminal Law

The tracks under these themes are merely descriptive and suggestive rather than authoritative. Any topic that is not within the purview of the tracks would be given equal consideration on merit.

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be emailed in .docx format; no other mode of submission will be accepted.
  • Manuscripts must be anonymised, stripped of names and identifying information, to preserve the blind review process.
  • The main content must be formatted in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
  • All manuscripts must be submitted with a plagiarism report and an AI report, preferably from Turnitin; alternate software may be considered.
  • The plagiarism limit is 10% and the AI limit is 10%.
  • If there is more than one author, all authors must be CC’d in the submission email and in the signature of the email.
