About the Opportunity
Central Law College is organising the Central Law College National Moot Court Competition 2026 from October 9 to 11, 2026. The offline competition will provide undergraduate law students an opportunity to develop written and oral advocacy, legal research, analytical reasoning and courtroom skills.
The competition will comprise a Researcher’s Test, Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Final Rounds, Semi-Final Round and Final Round.
Eligibility Criteria
- The competition is open to bona fide students enrolled in an undergraduate law course at any recognised College, Institution or University.
- A recognised institution may send one or more teams.
- Each team must consist of a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 3 members.
- For a 2-member team, both members will be Speakers and one will be designated as the Researcher.
- For a 3-member team, there will be 2 Speakers and 1 Researcher.
- No additional member or team coach is permitted.
Theme
The moot proposition raises contemporary constitutional and criminal-law questions concerning physician-administered active euthanasia.
The issues include whether Article 21 encompasses a right of a competent adult suffering from an incurable and irreversible medical condition to seek medical assistance in bringing about death with dignity; the constitutional distinction between withholding or withdrawing life-sustaining treatment and intentional administration of a lethal substance; criminal liability under Sections 100, 101, 103 and/or 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023; and the extent to which courts may recognise safeguards in the absence of legislation.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is ₹2,500 per team, inclusive of GST. The fee is non-refundable in case of non-participation after registration.
An early-bird registration fee of ₹2,200 per team is available until August 30, 2026, subject to use of the referral code “Early Bird”.

Registration Process
Interested teams must complete the online registration form and pay the prescribed registration fee on or before September 25, 2026, at 11:59:59 PM IST.
Qualified teams must report at 10:00 AM IST on October 9, 2026, at the registration desk of the competition venue.
Competition Format & Memorial Requirements
The competition will be conducted offline over three days, from October 9 to 11, 2026.
During the Preliminary Rounds, each team will argue once as Petitioner and once as Respondent. The advanced rounds will comprise the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals.
A Researcher’s Test will be conducted on October 9, 2026. It will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions carrying 2 marks each, with a duration of one hour.
Each team must prepare both Petitioner and Respondent Memorials. Soft copies must be submitted by October 4, 2026, and hard copies by October 7, 2026, as prescribed in the rulebook.
Venue
The competition will be held at Central Law College, Sector-F, Sushant Golf City, Sultanpur Road, Lucknow – 226030, Uttar Pradesh, India.
Accommodation will not be provided by the college. The committee will, however, offer assistance and guidance regarding accommodation arrangements.
