About the Opportunity

Marvel Studios, LLC, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, is offering a Business Affairs and Legal JD Internship for law students interested in entertainment, corporate and intellectual property matters.

The Legal Internship will involve working directly with Marvel’s in-house attorneys on legal matters connected with feature films, animation and television productions, as well as talent agreements for Marvel’s cinematic and streaming content.

The Legal Internship will report directly to Lead Counsel.

Duration

The Legal Internship will run approximately from January 2027 through May 2027.

Mode

The Legal Internship will be conducted remotely.

Working Hours

Interns must be available Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST, for 20 hours per week.

Interns must maintain a consistent and reliable work schedule throughout the internship.

Location

The Legal Internship is a remote position based in California, United States.

The position requires a reliable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.

Stipend

The pay rate for the Legal Internship is $41.40 per hour.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
• Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization.
• Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited law school and taking at least one class in the semester or quarter immediately prior to participation in the internship program.
• Candidates must have completed one or more years of law school in a current JD program at the start of the Legal Internship.
• Candidates must have prior internship experience at a film or entertainment company or law firm.
• Candidates should have excellent analytical and research skills.
• Candidates should be resourceful and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
• Candidates must demonstrate high discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.

Preferred qualifications include completion of coursework in copyright, entertainment law or intellectual property law.

Roles & Responsibilities

Contract Drafting

• Help prepare talent deals for feature films, streaming shows and animated productions.
• Draft above-the-line and below-the-line agreements for feature films, streaming series and animated productions.

Intellectual Property

• Analyse intellectual property rights, matters and clearance issues involving Marvel assets.
• Support legal work relating to Marvel’s intellectual property portfolio.

Entertainment Legal Affairs

• Work alongside Marvel’s in-house attorneys on entertainment, corporate and intellectual property matters.
• Support legal matters connected with films, animation and television shows at different stages of production.
