MAIMS, Delhi, invites law students to participate in its 7th National Moot Court Competition, 2026, with prizes worth ₹1.15 lakh.
About the Department of Law, MAIMS
The Department of Law, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS), was established in 2017 with the launch of its five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. programme. The B.B.A. LL.B. programme was introduced in 2020, followed by the LL.M. programme in 2022, with specialisations in ADR, IPR, and Corporate Law.
The Department is supported by facilities including a Moot Court Hall, Legal Services Clinic, ADR Cell, and MAIMS Pro Bono Club, which is run in association with the Ministry of Law & Justice.
About the Competition
The MAIMS 7th National Moot Court Competition, 2026, aims to provide law students from across India with a platform to demonstrate their advocacy, legal research, and analytical skills in a professional and intellectually stimulating environment.
The Inaugural Ceremony will be held on October 30, 2026. The Preliminary Rounds and Researcher’s Test will be conducted online on October 31, 2026.
Teams qualifying for the subsequent rounds will compete in the Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and Final Rounds in offline mode at the MAIMS campus in Rohini, Delhi, on November 20–21, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students pursuing a full-time three-year LL.B. programme are eligible to participate.
- Students pursuing a five-year integrated LL.B. (Hons.) programme are eligible to participate.
- The programme must be offered by an institution or university recognised by the Bar Council of India or any other equivalent competent authority.
Team Composition
Each team shall consist of three members. The team composition cannot be modified.
Two members shall be designated as Speakers and the third member shall be designated as the Researcher.
Mode
The Inaugural Ceremony will be followed by Preliminary Rounds and the Researcher’s Test in online mode.
The Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and Final Rounds will be conducted in offline mode at the MAIMS campus, Rohini, Delhi.
Location
The physical rounds will be conducted at the MAIMS campus in Rohini, Delhi.
Registration Fee
The regular registration fee is ₹5,000 per team.
The early bird registration fee is ₹4,500 per team for registrations made on or before August 20, 2026.
Teams qualifying for the Quarter-Final Round may opt for accommodation at an additional charge of ₹3,500. The accommodation is optional.
Important Dates
Registration commenced on August 1, 2026.
The early bird registration deadline is August 20, 2026.
The final registration deadline is September 10, 2026.
The last date for seeking clarifications is September 20, 2026.
Clarifications will be released on September 23, 2026.
The Inaugural Ceremony will be held on October 30, 2026.
The Preliminary Rounds I & II and Researcher’s Test will be conducted online on October 31, 2026.
The Quarter-Final and Semi-Final Rounds will be conducted offline on November 20, 2026.
The Final Round and Valedictory Ceremony will be conducted offline on November 21, 2026.
Awards
The Best Team will receive ₹51,000.
The Runner-Up will receive ₹31,000.
The Best Speaker will receive ₹11,000.
The Best Researcher will receive ₹11,000.
The Best Memorial will receive ₹11,000.
The total listed cash prizes amount to ₹1,15,000.
Application Procedure
Interested teams must confirm their participation by completing the Registration Form on or before 11:59 PM IST on September 10, 2026.
Each registered team will receive a unique Team Code, which must be used for subsequent communication with the organising committee.
Any change in team composition or other registration details must be communicated to the organising committee at the earliest by email to mootcourtsociety@maims.ac.in, along with a freshly filled registration form.
