About Chambers of Shivom Sethi

Chambers of Shivom Sethi offers law students an opportunity to gain practical exposure to litigation and develop skills relevant to legal practice. The internship emphasises practical thinking alongside legal research and drafting.

About the Opportunity

The internship is open to students who have completed their third year of a five-year integrated law course. The selected interns will receive exposure to litigation work, including legal research, drafting, case preparation and court-related assignments.

The opportunity is open to students from any law school, with a preference for giving opportunities to students from non-NLU institutions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students who have completed their third year of a five-year law course.
  • Basic understanding of law.
  • Ability to draft a coherent paragraph.
  • Ability to conduct legal research with some direction.
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Practical understanding and willingness to approach legal problems beyond textbook solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

Legal Research

Interns will undertake legal research with direction on issues arising in litigation matters.

Legal Drafting

Interns will assist with drafting assignments and are expected to demonstrate clear and coherent writing.

Case Preparation

Interns will assist with preparation for ongoing litigation matters.

Court-Related Assignments

The internship will provide exposure to court-related assignments and practical aspects of litigation.

Practical Problem-Solving

Interns are expected to demonstrate presence of mind, resourcefulness, negotiation skills and practical thinking while approaching problems.

Applicants should also mention one incident in which they used presence of mind, resourcefulness, negotiation or practical thinking to solve a problem, whether legal or otherwise. The incident need not be a courtroom-related experience; applicants are encouraged to explain how they approached and solved the problem.
