Arha Media & Broadcasting Private Limited is seeking a Legal Intern to join its Legal Department and support work relating to content rights management and operations.
About the Opportunity
The Legal Intern will support the Legal Team in reviewing, organising and validating content rights within the Rights Management System (RMS). The role involves ensuring that content rights and contractual information are accurately captured and aligned with the underlying agreements.
Duration
The internship will be for a period of three months.
Location
The position will be based in Hyderabad.
Workload
The position is full-time.
Practice Areas
The role will provide exposure to media and entertainment law, intellectual property, technology law, contract management, content licensing and OTT-related matters.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be law students pursuing a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programme.
- Candidates should have a strong interest in media and entertainment law, intellectual property, technology law and contract management.
- Candidates should have a good understanding of basic contractual concepts and intellectual property rights.
- Candidates should have strong attention to detail, particularly while reviewing large volumes of agreements and data.
- Candidates should possess good research, documentation and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets and standard documentation tools is preferred.
- Prior exposure to media/entertainment contracts or rights management will be an advantage.
Roles & Responsibilities
Contract Review
- Review and analyse agreements relating to content acquisition, licensing, distribution and exploitation rights.
- Verify key commercial and legal rights captured in the Rights Management System against the underlying contracts.
Compliance
- Assist in identifying discrepancies, missing information, expired rights and incomplete documentation in the Rights Management System.
Legal Research
- Conduct basic legal research on content licensing, intellectual property, digital media and OTT-related matters, as required.
Documentation
- Prepare summaries, trackers and reports relating to RMS status and pending items.
