Through legal advocacy, policy engagement, survivor assistance, and awareness initiatives, the organisation seeks to advance access to justice and strengthen the rights of vulnerable communities.

The Foundation works closely with survivors, legal professionals, policymakers, and civil society stakeholders to address issues relating to violence, discrimination, and social exclusion. Its legal interventions aim to ensure effective representation, support, and advocacy for survivors across multiple forums.

About the Job

Brave Souls Foundation is seeking a qualified and experienced Law Officer to join its team in New Delhi. The role is suited for litigation professionals with substantial courtroom experience and a demonstrated commitment to social justice and human rights advocacy.

The selected candidate will be responsible for representing survivors before courts and tribunals, drafting legal pleadings, conducting research, and supporting strategic advocacy initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to work directly on matters involving access to justice, survivor rights, and gender-based violence.

Mode

This is a full-time, in-office position.

Location

The position is based at Jangpura Extension, New Delhi.

Salary

₹30,000 – ₹50,000 per month (negotiable based on experience).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of litigation experience.
  • Proven practice before District Courts and the High Court of Delhi.
  • Strong legal research and legal drafting skills.
  • Experience in client counselling and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights, social justice, and survivor-centred advocacy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage litigation responsibilities effectively.

Roles & Responsibilities

Litigation & Court Representation

  • Independently represent the organisation and its beneficiaries before courts, tribunals, and relevant legal forums.
  • Manage litigation matters from initiation to disposal.
  • Coordinate with advocates, court officials, and stakeholders where required.

Drafting & Documentation

  • Draft complaints, writ petitions, representations, applications, affidavits, and other legal documents.
  • Review legal records and maintain case documentation.
  • Assist in preparing legal strategies and submissions.

Legal Research

  • Conduct legal research on issues relating to constitutional law, criminal law, human rights, gender justice, and survivor rights.
  • Analyse judgments, statutes, policies, and regulatory developments relevant to ongoing matters.

Survivor Support & Advocacy

  • Coordinate with survivors and provide legal assistance in a professional and sensitive manner.
  • Support advocacy initiatives aimed at strengthening legal protections and access to justice.
  • Assist in developing legal awareness and outreach programmes.
