The institution has hosted national and international academic events, including the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition India Rounds and the Bar Council of India International Moot Court Competition.
About the Opportunity
The Moot Court Society of KIIT School of Law is organising the II KIIT International Moot Court Competition 2026. The competition aims to provide law students from India and abroad with an opportunity to engage with contemporary legal questions and develop their legal research, advocacy, argumentation, and dispute resolution skills.
The moot proposition is based on international commercial arbitration and documentary credits. The competition will include online preliminary rounds followed by offline advanced rounds comprising the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Final Round.
Mode
The preliminary rounds will be conducted online, while the advanced rounds will be conducted offline.
Location
The offline advanced rounds will be conducted at KIIT School of Law, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar.
Eligibility Criteria
- The competition is open to students enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year law degree programme or a comparable graduate programme in law, subject to the eligibility requirements prescribed in the Rules.
- Participants must represent a recognised and accredited institution where they are enrolled.
Team Composition
- Each team must consist of a minimum of two and a maximum of three members.
- A team may comprise a maximum of two speakers and one researcher.
Prizes
The total prize pool is βΉ3,90,000.
- Winning Team: βΉ2,00,000
- Runners-up: βΉ1,00,000
- Best Researcher: βΉ30,000
- Best Speaker: βΉ30,000
- Best Memorial: βΉ30,000
Registration Fee
The registration fee is βΉ6,000 for national teams.
The registration fee is USD 100 for international teams.
