The IDIA Corporate Blog Writing Competition 2026 invites entries on contemporary developments in Corporate and Commercial Law.

About IDIA

Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access to Legal Education (IDIA) is a nationwide initiative working towards equitable access to quality legal education for underprivileged and marginalised communities.

Through chapters and student volunteers across India, IDIA identifies and supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds, with the objective of promoting greater diversity and inclusivity within the legal profession.

About the Opportunity

The IDIA RMLNLU and NALSAR Chapters are organising the IDIA Corporate Blog Writing Competition 2026, with Fox & Mandal as the Competition Sponsor, SCC Online as the Exclusive Media Partner, and the Arbitration and Corporate Law Review (ACLR) as the Official Publication Partner.

The competition provides a platform for law students and young scholars to engage critically with contemporary developments in Corporate and Commercial Law through analytical and well-researched writing. It also aims to encourage discussions at the intersection of law, policy, and society while developing participants’ research and writing abilities.

Theme

The theme of the competition is Contemporary Developments in Corporate and Commercial Law.

The indicative sub-themes are:

  1. Corporate Liability in the Digital Economy
  2. Corporate Fraud, White-Collar Crime, and Regulatory Enforcement
  3. Mergers, Acquisitions, and Corporate Restructuring
  4. Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Start-up Regulation
  5. Cross-Border Investments and International Commercial Law
  6. FinTech, Digital Assets, and Financial Regulation
  7. Shareholder Rights and Minority Protection

Participants may explore other contemporary issues falling within the broader theme.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Entries may have a single author or up to two co-authors.
  • The maximum number of authors per submission is two.
  • The word limit is 1,500–2,000 words.
  • Submissions must be made in MS Word (.doc or .docx) format.

Registration Fee

The registration fee for single-authored submissions is β‚Ή500.

The registration fee for co-authored submissions is β‚Ή700.

Prizes

The total prize pool is β‚Ή30,000.

  • Winner: β‚Ή15,000
  • Runner-up: β‚Ή10,000
  • Second Runner-up: β‚Ή5,000

The Top 3 contenders will also have the opportunity to intern with Fox & Mandal, subject to the firm’s conditions.

Fox & Mandal will conduct an exclusive certificate training session for participating teams. The Top 3 articles will also be published by the Arbitration and Corporate Law Review (ACLR).

The registration and submission deadline is October 31, 2026.

Application Procedure

Submissions must be original and unpublished. Entries must be completely anonymised and must not contain the names, institutional affiliations, acknowledgements, or other identifying information of the author or authors.

Submissions are to be made through the Google Form.

The registration and submission deadline is October 31, 2026.

Screening and evaluation will take place in November 2026, and the results will be declared on December 10, 2026.
