About the Opportunity
Greenlight is seeking a motivated Legal & Compliance Intern for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports the Legal and Compliance team and offers hands-on exposure to the regulatory and operational side of fintech. Interns will work with attorneys and compliance professionals to help the company operate in line with applicable laws and internal standards. The position reports to a Manager, Associate Counsel and is suitable for candidates exploring legal internship opportunities at companies working in financial technology.

Eligibility Criteria
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Legal Studies, Political Science, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- J.D. candidates are welcome to apply.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
- Interest in fintech, financial regulation, or consumer protection law is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace is expected; familiarity with document management systems is a plus.
- Prior internship or coursework in compliance, legal research, or a related area is helpful but not required.
Roles & Responsibilities
Regulatory Research
Monitor and research emerging legal and regulatory developments in fintech, including consumer protection, payments, and financial services regulations, and summarize findings for the team.
Policies and Compliance Controls
Organize, maintain, and archive company policies and procedures. Interns will also test internal systems and workflows, document issues, and report compliance gaps.
Cross-Functional Support
The role includes compiling data and preparing reports, reviewing marketing and advertising materials, and partnering with Product, Marketing, Customer Support, and other teams on compliance questions and initiatives.
