About Government Law College, Kozhikode
Government Law College, Kozhikode was established in 1970 and is described as the third law college founded in Kerala. The institution offers programmes including the five-year integrated BBA LLB (Honours), three-year LLB and LLM degrees.
The college supports co-curricular and professional development through initiatives including MaFLaC, its Management Forum, which promotes leadership, management exposure and interdisciplinary learning within a legal academic framework.
About the Opportunity
MaFLaC, Government Law College, Kozhikode, is inviting students, researchers, academicians and professionals to submit research papers for the national seminar “Imperium Capitalis – Empire of Capital: Intellectual Property as Corporate Hegemony.” The seminar will examine intellectual property through interdisciplinary perspectives involving law, capital, knowledge and the politics of ownership.
Selected papers will be presented during the seminar. Selected papers will also be published in an edited volume with an ISBN and in the conference proceedings, subject to the stated publication requirements.

The deadline for abstract submission and provisional registration is September 17, 2026. The deadline for full paper submission and final registration is September 24, 2026.

Submission Guidelines
- A paper may be submitted by one author or with one co-author, with a maximum of two authors.
- The abstract must be between 250 and 500 words.
- The abstract must outline the research question, methodology and key arguments of the paper.
- The abstract must contain 4–5 keywords.
- Abstracts must adhere to the 21st edition of the Bluebook.
- Full research papers must be between 3,000 and 4,000 words.
- Full papers should follow the prescribed academic structure: Introduction, Research Problem, Research Questions, Objectives, Literature Review, Methodology, Analysis, Findings, Recommendations, Conclusion and References.
- The main text should use Times New Roman, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
- Footnotes should use Times New Roman, size 10, with single line spacing.
- Full papers must adhere to the 21st edition of the Bluebook.
- Papers must be original and unpublished.
- Plagiarized submissions will be disqualified.
- Papers must be written in English.

- Students may submit research papers.

- Professionals may submit research papers.
Selection Process
All abstracts and full papers will undergo peer review by the Paper Review Committee and Academic Committee.
Selection will be based on the relevance of the submission to the themes, originality and quality of research. Selected papers will be invited for presentation during the seminar, and authors will be notified by email.
Presentation
Selected authors will present their papers in hybrid mode. Each author will have 5–7 minutes for presentation, followed by a 3-minute question-and-answer session.
Projectors and other audiovisual equipment will be available for presenters. Presentations must be delivered in English, and physical presenters are required to carry three hard copies.
Publication
Selected papers will be published in an edited volume with an ISBN.
Selected papers meeting the stated requirement of below 10% plagiarism, including AI-generated content, will be published in the conference proceedings.
Registration Fees
- GLCK Students: Rs. 300 for paper presentation and participation; free for participation only.
- Other UG/PG Students: Rs. 500 for paper presentation and participation; Rs. 100 for participation only.
- Research Scholars: Rs. 600 for paper presentation and participation; Rs. 250 for participation only.
- Faculty/Academicians: Rs. 750 for paper presentation and participation; Rs. 250 for participation only.
- Legal Practitioners, Industry and Management Professionals: Rs. 1,000 for paper presentation and participation; Rs. 250 for participation only.

The seminar will include awards for:
- Best Paper Award
- Best Paper Presenter
- Second Best Paper Presenter
Each awardee will receive a Certificate of Excellence and a complimentary one-year subscription to Legal Bites. Authors of all selected papers will also receive a complimentary one-year subscription to Legal Bites.

Application Procedure
Interested authors should submit their abstracts and related materials according to the submission process outlined in the Participants’ Guide.
The abstract must contain 250–500 words and 4–5 keywords and must follow the 21st edition of the Bluebook.
