About the Opportunity

The Freshfields Dubai internship programme is based in the firm’s dispute resolution practice. In a small practice, interns take responsibility early and assist with all aspects of the department’s caseload. The programme offers exposure to cross-border work, complex projects, risk-management issues and disputes at the forefront of the market.

Interns work alongside experienced lawyers and are supervised by senior members of the team. Because the office is small, interns have daily contact with colleagues ranging from newly qualified lawyers to senior partners, while gaining practical experience in a dynamic, inclusive and professional environment.

Location

The internship is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Duration

The placement runs for six months.

Stipend

Selected interns will earn a monthly salary of AED 10,500 for the duration of the internship.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants should be studying law. Freshfields considers candidates from across the Middle East region and internationally.
• Outstanding undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualifications are essential.
• English language skills to a business standard are essential.
• Arabic language skills to a business standard are desirable.
• Work experience at a leading international law firm is desirable.
• A demonstrable interest in international arbitration, major projects or global investigations is advantageous.

Dispute Resolution Work

Interns assist with the department’s caseload and contribute to work involving cross-border risks, commercial disputes and complex legal challenges.

Practice Areas

• Commercial disputes, including commercial arbitration, investor-state dispute settlement, DIFC and ADGM court litigation, onshore local litigation across the region and risk advisory work.
• Major projects.
• Global investigations.
