About the Opportunity
The role is a legal internship for law students and graduates who want to build a career in the legal, compliance and financial services space. It is a legal internship in India with a financial services firm, and it is one of the legal internship opportunities focused on investor onboarding, compliance and global AML regulations.
This legal internship at companies in the financial services sector offers candidates a close view of how investor onboarding and regulatory compliance function in practice, working with the firm’s Legal Team in Mumbai.
Location
The internship will be based in Prabhadevi, Mumbai.
Duration
The internship will be for a period of 6 months.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Onboard various types of global investors (individual and non-individual) by interacting with investment managers and independently executing the process within defined TATs.
- Gain an understanding of onboarding NRI and foreign investors from a FATF and sanctions screening perspective.
- Achieve investor onboarding in line with PMLA/AML guidelines while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Read, understand and interpret global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws and policies.
- Lead coordination with KRA, CKYC and Depository Participants (DPs).
- Upgrade process notes and checklists in line with evolving regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with teams managing investor onboarding and backend data management systems.
- Gain an understanding of scheme banks, wire transfers and custodian arrangements.
- Oversee post-investment deliverables such as welcome kits and NAV coordination with the middle office.

- LL.B. or LL.M. graduates.
