About the Opportunity

Create Music Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join its M&A Legal Group. The intern will work under the guidance of the Vice President and Director of M&A Legal Affairs on music-related transactions and corporate legal work.

The role primarily focuses on acquisitions, intellectual property, and corporate compliance, with particular emphasis on music catalogue acquisitions. It is a part-time, fully remote internship designed for current graduate students.

Eligibility Criteria

• Current graduate students may apply.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Applicants should have a strong interest in M&A, intellectual property, and the music or media industry.
• Excellent legal writing, organisational, and communication skills are expected.
• Candidates should be able to handle confidential information with discretion.
• A detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative mindset is required.
• Prior experience in transactional, corporate, or entertainment law, including previous internships, is an advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities

Transactional Documents

• Assist with drafting and reviewing asset purchase agreements, letters of direction, and related transactional documents.
• Review and revise non-disclosure agreements with prospective partners and counterparties.

Research and Due Diligence

• Conduct legal research and due diligence on potential acquisition targets.

Copyright and Compliance

• Support the preparation and submission of copyright registrations with the U.S. Copyright Office.
• Assist with corporate organisational documents, filings, entity records, and debt compliance.

Deal Support and Collaboration

• Organise and track deal documents and legal correspondence.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and A&R teams on transaction-related tasks.
• Provide administrative support for ongoing legal projects and assist with additional tasks based on interest and availability.
