The Centre for Labour Law Research and Advocacy (CLLRA) at the National Law University, Delhi publishes the Journal on Labour. It is a double-blind, peer-reviewed annual journal focusing on interdisciplinary scholarship on labour issues.

About the Opportunity

The Journal on Labour is accepting submissions for its third issue (2026–27) on the theme “Technology, Labour and Governance.” The journal seeks interdisciplinary writings on labour and contemporary debates.

The call covers research articles, short articles, insights and perspectives, book reviews and case notes, as well as field notes and pictorial commentaries.

Submission Categories

Special Articles: 8,000–10,000 words, covering theoretical or empirical knowledge on the issue theme.
Short Articles: 5,000–8,000 words, addressing themes of contemporary relevance.
Insights/Perspectives: 3,500–4,500 words, covering short theoretical discussions or futuristic solutions.
Book Reviews/Case Notes: 2,500–3,000 words, focusing on landmark labour cases or books by recognised publishers.
Field Notes/Pictorial Commentaries: 1–2 pages, covering methodological material or ground narratives.

Eligibility Criteria

The call is open to scholars, researchers, practitioners, and activists interested in labour studies and related interdisciplinary fields.

Submission Guidelines

All submissions except book reviews must include an abstract of a maximum of 300 words and 5 keywords.
Word counts include footnotes.
APA citation style must be used exclusively.
Manuscripts must be formatted in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
Footnotes must be in font size 10 with single spacing.
There must be a one-line gap between paragraphs and headings.
Paragraphs must be indented one inch.
Manuscripts must be anonymous and original.
Co-authorship is allowed.
Gift authorship is prohibited.

Conditions of Publication

Authors retain copyright over their work. Articles published in the journal will be released under a CC BY 4.0 licence, allowing reuse with attribution.

The submitted material must be original and must not have been published or be under consideration elsewhere. Authors are responsible for any infringement, with indemnification required if the journal suffers losses.

Deadline

The deadline for final submission is September 30, 2026.

The submission process began on July 20, 2026. Acceptance communication is scheduled for January 30, 2027, and the publication date is August 15, 2027.
