The Competition Commission of India (CCI) invites original research papers for its 12th National Conference on Economics of Competition Law, 2027, tentatively scheduled for February/March 2027 in New Delhi.

About the Competition Commission of India

The Competition Commission of India is organising the 12th National Conference on Economics of Competition Law, 2027 to encourage research and academic discussion on contemporary issues at the intersection of economics, competition law and policy.

The conference seeks to develop a deeper understanding of competition issues relevant to the Indian context and draw useful inferences for the implementation of competition law in India.

About the Call for Papers

The conference invites research contributions from economists, scholars, practitioners and competition agency officials with an interest in the economics of competition law and policy.

Co-authored papers are permitted. However, at least one author must be an Indian citizen with expertise or specialisation in Economics.

Submission Requirements

Interested authors are initially required to submit:

  • A 1,000-word abstract
  • Research questions
  • Methodology
  • Expected results
  • One-page curriculum vitae
  • Contact details

Authors whose abstracts are selected will subsequently be invited to submit a full, original and unpublished paper of not more than 6,000 words.

Suggested Themes

Submissions are encouraged on the following themes:

  • Market definition, measuring market power and abuse of dominance
  • Vertical restraints and competition
  • Horizontal agreements and cartelisation
  • Economics of platform markets and challenges for antitrust enforcement
  • Intellectual Property Rights and Competition Law
  • Artificial Intelligence and Competition Law
  • Price and non-price effects of mergers
  • Other contemporary issues relating to competition policy and law

The CCI particularly encourages papers based on empirical research that can contribute to competition enforcement and policy.

Publication

After incorporating suggestions and undergoing quality review, submitted papers may be published by the CCI on its website and/or in the CCI Journal on Competition Law and Policy.

Conference Fee

There is no conference fee.

Honorarium

Authors of papers selected for presentation will receive an honorarium of β‚Ή30,000 per paper, along with a certificate.

No TA or DA will be provided for attending the conference.

The CV must include the author’s/co-author’s citizenship, educational qualifications with the discipline of postgraduate or doctoral studies and passing year, work experience, and publications in the field of economics, if any.
