The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has invited abstracts for the 12th National Conference on Economics of Competition Law 2027. Selected papers will receive an honorarium of ₹30,000 and be presented at the conference in New Delhi.

About the Competition Commission of India

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is a statutory body established under the Competition Act, 2002 to promote fair competition, prevent anti-competitive practices, protect consumer interests, and ensure freedom of trade in Indian markets. The Commission regularly organizes conferences, seminars, and research initiatives to encourage academic discussion and policy development in competition law and economics.

About the Conference

The 12th National Conference on Economics of Competition Law is proposed to be held in February/March 2027 in New Delhi. The conference aims to encourage research and debate on emerging issues relating to competition law and economics while promoting evidence-based policymaking and enforcement.

Researchers whose abstracts are shortlisted will be invited to submit full papers. Selected authors will present their research before experts, academicians, policymakers, and professionals working in the field of competition law and economics.

Conference Objectives

The conference seeks to:

  • Promote research on contemporary issues in competition law and economics.
  • Improve understanding of competition-related challenges in India.
  • Encourage discussions that contribute to better implementation of competition law and policy.

Co-authored papers are permitted. However, at least one author must be an Indian citizen with expertise or specialization in Economics.

Submission Guidelines

Applicants are required to submit:

  • A 1,000-word abstract containing the research question, methodology, and expected results.
  • A one-page Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Contact details.

Authors of selected abstracts will subsequently be invited to submit an original, unpublished full paper of not more than 6,000 words.

Themes

Papers are invited on, but not limited to, the following themes:

  • Market definition, market power, and abuse of dominance.
  • Vertical restraints and competition.
  • Horizontal agreements and cartelization.
  • Economics of platform markets and antitrust enforcement.
  • Intellectual Property Rights and Competition Law.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Competition Law.
  • Price and non-price effects of mergers.
  • Any other issue relating to competition policy and law.

Conference Fee

There is no conference registration fee.

Honorarium

Authors whose papers are selected for presentation will receive an honorarium of ₹30,000 per paper along with a certificate.

Please note that TA/DA will not be provided for attending the conference.

Venue

The conference is proposed to be held in New Delhi during February/March 2027.

  • Last Date for Submission of Abstracts: 17 August 2026
  • Review and Intimation to Authors: 1 October 2026
  • Last Date for Submission of Full Papers: 1 December 2026
  • Final Review of Papers: 29 January 2027
  • Conference Presentation: February/March 2027 (Tentative)
