5th CNLU International Mediation Competition 2027 by CCADR, CNLU Patna: Register by October 31!

CCADR is organising the 5th CNLU International Mediation Competition 2027 in a hybrid format, with online rounds followed by offline rounds at the CNLU campus.

About Chanakya National Law University

Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, is a National Law University established under the Chanakya National Law University Act, 2006. The University promotes legal education, research, legal awareness and co-curricular activities including debating, mooting and alternative dispute resolution competitions.

CNLU integrates practical engagement into the student experience through academic and co-curricular activities. The University has also benefited from the expertise of retired judges, senior advocates and educationists in its teaching and research programmes.

About CCADR

The Chanakya Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CCADR), established at CNLU in 2021, serves as a centre for academic research, practical skill-building and professional engagement in dispute resolution. Its work covers arbitration, mediation, negotiation and allied mechanisms, including frameworks under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 and international standards such as the UNCITRAL Model Law.

CCADR organises national and intra-college ADR competitions, panel discussions, workshops, training sessions, lectures and interactive engagements with practitioners, academicians and industry experts. The Centre also undertakes publications and other initiatives connected with alternative dispute resolution.

About the Competition

The fifth edition of the CNLU Mediation Competition marks CCADR’s first International Mediation Competition. The 2027 edition welcomes participation from institutions, peers and practitioners in India and abroad, building on the four preceding editions organised by the Centre.

The competition aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the mediation process through engagement with experienced practitioners, distinguished experts and academicians. It also seeks to provide participants with an opportunity to interact with professionals working in the field of dispute resolution.

Competition Structure

The competition will begin with online rounds on 16 and 17 January 2027. Results for the Top 8 Teams are scheduled to be released between 17 and 18 January 2027. The offline rounds will follow at the CNLU campus on 13 and 14 February 2027.

Application Procedure

Interested participants may provisionally register through the Google Form below. The pre-invite document contains the available information about the fifth edition of the competition.

The last date for provisional registration is 31 October 2026. The last date for final registration is 20 December 2026. The competition will be conducted in a hybrid format, with online rounds in January and offline rounds at CNLU Patna in February 2027.
