About the Competition

The Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition (B-M ICCC) traces its origins to 1969, when Louis M. Brown founded the first Client Counselling Competition for law students. It was recognised by the American Bar Association in 1972, and its international edition was introduced in 1985. Today, the Competition is affiliated with the International Bar Association and gathers national champions from around the world. The International Rounds of 2027 are scheduled for April 28 to May 1, 2027, on the theme of “Theft”.

The Competition aims to develop the interviewing and counselling abilities of law students, enabling them to engage effectively with clients, identify key issues and propose well-reasoned solutions. The India Rounds host teams from leading law schools across the country, with two law students acting as attorneys in a mock law-office consultation, followed by a post-interview session held without the client present.
