About the Opportunity

Factor is seeking an Associate, Contract Management I to work on engagements for large global clients. The role involves contract-related work across areas including financial regulations, corporate restructuring, commercial contracts and financial services contract negotiation.

The selected candidate will work as part of a team delivering legal and contract management services to clients while supporting the drafting, negotiation and management of commercial agreements.

Location

The role is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Practice Areas

The role involves work relating to financial regulations, corporate restructuring, commercial contract negotiation, financial services contracts and other contract-related matters.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have a law degree and/or be legally qualified.
  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the country where the role is based.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of three years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts within a law firm, legal services organisation or in-house legal team.
  • Applicants must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Applicants must have strong English written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Applicants must have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Word.
  • Applicants should be able to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with a recognised matter management system as part of a daily routine is required.
  • Applicants should demonstrate adaptability, authenticity, accountability and a values-driven approach to work.

Roles & Responsibilities

Contract Drafting and Negotiation

The selected candidate will draft and negotiate a range of contracts, including content and development contracts, software development contracts, professional and consulting services contracts, staffing contracts, licensing contracts, IP/IT contracts and general commercial contracts.

Contract Management

The Associate will work on contract-related engagements and support the management of data on client and company systems, ensuring that information is kept up to date.

Process and Compliance

The selected candidate will adhere to delivery processes and commitments while supporting the overall delivery of services and compliance with client commitments.

Template and Playbook Development

The role includes assisting with the development of contract templates, playbooks and other tools for use by the team.

Team Collaboration

The Associate will work as part of a team focused on improving client service and adding value. The role also requires the legal knowledge and ability to take instructions from clients and serve as an escalation point on issues for more junior team members.
