Amity University Rajasthan invites law students to the hybrid AUR Moot Court Competition 2026. Register by 20 October.

About Amity University Rajasthan

Amity University Rajasthan was established under the Amity University Rajasthan Act, 2008. Its Amity Law School, established in 2008 and approved by the Bar Council of India, offers undergraduate law programmes, LL.M. and Ph.D. courses. The school incorporates case analysis, legal research, writing and moot court training into its teaching.

The student-led Moot Court Society at Amity Law School, Jaipur, works with the administration to organise competitions, workshops and training in drafting, pleading and oral argumentation.

About the Competition

Amity Law School is organising the AUR Moot Court Competition 2026 in hybrid mode. Teams will prepare written memorials and present oral arguments. Each team argues both sides in the preliminary rounds; the top eight teams advance to the quarter-finals, followed by four semi-finalists and two finalists. The official language is English.

Mode and Venue

Preliminary and quarter-final rounds will take place online on 4 November 2026. The semi-finals and final will be held on 21 November 2026 at the Moot Court Room, D-Block, 3rd Floor, Amity University Jaipur Campus, SP-1 Kant Kalwar, NH11C, RIICO Industrial Area, Rajasthan–303002.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students enrolled in an integrated five-year or three-year law programme at a Bar Council of India-recognised institution may participate.
  • Each team must have two speakers and may include one researcher, with a maximum of three members.
  • Only designated speakers in the preliminary rounds are eligible for the Best Speaker award.
  • Team membership cannot be amended after registration is accepted. Coaches, mentors and observers may not accompany registered participants.

Moot Proposition

The proposition concerns a fictional public safety law permitting compulsory scientific interrogation. It raises questions about self-incrimination, mental privacy, personal liberty, executive sanction, bail restrictions, admissibility of evidence and legislative repugnancy. Teams should consult the complete proposition and its annexures for the facts and issues.

Registration Fee and Accommodation

The non-refundable registration fee is ₹3,000 plus 18% GST, totalling ₹3,540 per team.

Teams qualifying for the semi-finals may opt for university hostel accommodation at ₹450 plus 18% GST, or ₹531 per person per day. Accommodation is available for up to two days. Each participant must complete the separate accommodation form and pay before arrival; payment alone does not confirm a booking. The university will not provide transportation.

Memorial Submission Guidelines

  • Submit memorials for both sides in PDF and DOCX format by 27 October 2026 using the official memorial submission form.
  • Identify submissions only through the allotted team code, including in filenames. Institutional and participant names must not appear.
  • Use Times New Roman, 12-point body text, 10-point footnotes, 1.5 body spacing, single-spaced footnotes and one-inch margins. Follow Bluebook 20th edition citation style.
  • Arguments advanced must not exceed 25 pages. Teams must bring four hard copies for each side to the campus rounds.
  • Read the brochure for all required sections, cover colours, page limits and penalties.
