The Office of Advocate Krishna Kant Tiwari is a litigation chamber based at AD-109, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi. The chamber’s practice covers appearances and matters before the Delhi High Court and the district courts across Delhi-NCR, with work spanning legal research, drafting and case preparation for litigation matters.
About the Opportunity
The Office of Advocate Krishna Kant Tiwari is inviting applications for Legal Interns to join its litigation practice for an initial 3-month probationary period, with the possibility of extension based on performance, commitment and quality of work. The internship is physical and court-and-office based, and the intern will be required to work from the office as well as attend court proceedings and hearings depending on the matters listed for the day.
The internship is intended for candidates who are willing to actively participate in litigation work and attend court whenever required. It offers the opportunity to experience litigation beyond textbooks and to learn through live matters, court proceedings, drafting assignments, legal research and day-to-day litigation practice, with exposure to how a matter progresses from client consultation to research, drafting, filing, court proceedings and arguments.
Mode
The internship will be conducted in physical mode and will be court-and-office based. Court work will include attendance at the Delhi High Court and the district courts across Delhi-NCR, as required, while office work will be carried out from the chamber at Shalimar Bagh.
Location
The office is located at AD-109, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi.
Duration
The internship will run for an initial period of 3 months on a probationary basis. The extension of the internship will be based on performance and work.
Stipend
The stipend will be as per industry standards. Reasonable expenses incurred for authorised office work will be reimbursed separately.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students pursuing LL.B., B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B. or an equivalent law degree.
- Preference may be given to students in their 3rd year onwards of a 5-year integrated law course or 2nd year onwards of a 3-year LL.B. programme.
- Fresh law graduates with a genuine interest in litigation may also apply.
- Basic understanding of legal research, drafting and court procedure.
- Genuine interest in pursuing litigation as a career.
Roles & Responsibilities
Office Work
The intern will assist with legal research, drafting, preparation of case files, brief preparation, case discussion and other litigation-related work at the office.
Court Work
The intern will attend court proceedings and hearings at the Delhi High Court and the district courts across Delhi-NCR, depending on the matters listed for the day.
Practical Exposure
The intern will have the opportunity to accompany matters through different stages of litigation and to observe court proceedings and advocacy in practice.
