About CADR

CADR, the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution at Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, promotes academic research on alternative dispute resolution. Established in 2022 as a student initiative, the Centre’s work covers arbitration, negotiation, mediation and conciliation, with a focus on study and research concerning ADR mechanisms in India.

About the Journal

The Journal for Dispute Resolution (JDR) is CADR’s open-access journal, published twice a year and reviewed through a double-blind process. It provides a platform for academics, practitioners, students and research scholars to examine contemporary dispute-resolution issues in Indian and international jurisdictions. Its first volume was published in July 2023, and Volume IV, Issue I was released in August 2026.

About the Call for Papers

CADR invites original, previously unpublished contributions for Volume IV, Issue II of JDR. The issue’s theme is “Pluralism in Dispute Resolution: Bridging Individual Rights, Community Interests, and Corporate Governance.” Authors may submit articles, case comments or legislative and policy comments relevant to the journal’s scope.

Theme and Sub-Themes

  • Individual-Centric ADR: Access to Justice, Family, and Human Rights.
  • Community and Informal Sector ADR: Collective Rights, Labour, and Public Policy.
  • Corporate and Institutional ADR: ESG, Global Commerce, and Governance.

The sub-themes are suggestive. Other contemporary questions concerning domestic or international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution are also welcome.

Submission Categories

  • Short articles: 2,500–3,500 words.
  • Long articles: 4,000–8,000 words.
  • Case comments: 2,000–3,000 words.
  • Legislative or policy comments: 2,500–3,500 words.

Word limits exclude abstracts and footnotes. The Editorial Board may allow a relaxation of up to 10% in the prescribed word limit.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students, academicians, professionals and doctoral researchers may submit.
  • A submission may have a maximum of two authors.
  • Each author or co-author is limited to one submission.
  • Submissions must be in English.

Submission and Formatting Guidelines

  • Submit a Microsoft Word (.docx) manuscript.
  • Use Times New Roman, 12-point main text and 10-point footnotes.
  • Use 1.5 line spacing for the main text and single spacing for footnotes.
  • Follow the Bluebook, 21st Edition, for citations.
  • Include an abstract of no more than 200 words and five keywords.
  • Keep author names and identifying information out of the manuscript. Provide author and affiliation details through the submission form.
  • Submit original, unpublished work that is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • The brochure permits AI usage up to 10% and encourages manuscripts without AI-generated content. Plagiarised manuscripts will be rejected.

Review and Publication

Submissions first undergo screening for originality and compliance, including plagiarism and AI checks. The Student Editorial Board then examines relevance, clarity and quality. Eligible manuscripts proceed to double-blind peer review, with author and reviewer identities concealed. Editorial decisions are final, and submissions that do not follow the guidelines will not be considered for review.

Published content is freely available through the university’s website. There are no submission fees, publication fees or page charges.

The journal requires exclusive submissions. Copyright in accepted contributions vests with JDR, and submission grants the journal the rights needed to produce, distribute and publish the work online or offline. Authors must acknowledge their sources and obtain the necessary permissions for material belonging to others.

Application Procedure

Submit the manuscript through JDR’s official Google Form by January 1, 2027. Upload the manuscript as a Word document and the required abstract, and complete the author, co-author, institutional and contact details. The form requires Google sign-in for uploads. Manuscripts sent directly to the journal’s email address will not be considered. Read the brochure for the complete editorial and copyright policies before submitting.
