About Bharati Vidyapeeth

Bharati Vidyapeeth was founded in Pune in 1964 by Dr. Patangrao Kadam. Its New Law College, Kolhapur, was established in 1982 and is permanently affiliated to Shivaji University. The college offers three-year and five-year law programmes, alongside diploma courses in taxation and labour laws.

About the Competition

Bharati Vidyapeeth’s New Law College, Kolhapur, is organising Pradnya Bharati National Level Paper Presentation Competition 2026 on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), also described as Bharatiya Dnyana Parampara. This IQAC initiative is conducted under Shaastrarth Mandal, the college’s Jurist Club.

The competition invites original research connecting Indian knowledge traditions with contemporary legal and interdisciplinary questions. Participants are encouraged to develop analytical arguments supported by appropriate methods, sources and citations.

Mode and Event Dates

Paper presentations will take place online on October 26, 2026. The concluding ceremony and declaration of results are scheduled for October 27, 2026, at 12:30 PM. Presentations may be delivered in English, Hindi or Marathi.

Themes

  • Indian Knowledge Systems and law: justice, jurisprudence, constitutional values, governance, dispute resolution, professional ethics and environmental thought.
  • Family law: marriage, joint families, Stridhan, property rights, adoption and kinship.
  • Economics: taxation, trade, economic governance, sustainability and economic justice.
  • Sociology, history and political science: social institutions, knowledge transmission, Indian intellectual traditions, leadership and public administration.
  • Interdisciplinary studies combining law with philosophy, education, technology, psychology, management, literature and related fields.

These themes are illustrative. Other papers consistent with the competition’s objectives may also be considered.
