About Centre for Law and Economics
The Centre for Law and Economics is a research centre at Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna. It promotes interdisciplinary research into the economic analysis of law and the use of economic reasoning in legal disputes and policy evaluation.
The Centre organises seminars, conferences, workshops and writing competitions. Its activities seek to develop students’ understanding of the relationship between law and economics and provide a forum for practitioners, academics, scholars and students to discuss contemporary legal and economic policy issues.
About the Competition
The Centre for Law and Economics, CNLU is organising the 1st Axiom5–CLE National Article Writing Competition, 2026. It invites law students to examine current challenges in competition law through legal and economic analysis.
Axiom5 Law Chambers LLP is the Title Partner and Assessment & Internship Partner. Chandhiok & Mahajan, Advocates and Solicitors is the Internship Partner. The competition will conclude with a virtual panel discussion on its theme.
Theme
Competition Law in a Changing Market Order.
Suggested Areas
- Regulation of digital markets and platform power.
- Effects-based analysis of dominance.
- Artificial intelligence and algorithmic coordination.
- Collusion in labour markets and public procurement.
Eligibility Criteria
The competition is open to undergraduate and postgraduate law students across India.
Prizes
- First prize: ₹20,000 and an internship.
- Second prize: ₹15,000 and an internship.
- Third prize: ₹10,000 and an internship.
- The top ten entries will receive a Certificate of Merit.
- Every valid submission will receive a Certificate of Participation.
Panel Discussion
A virtual panel discussion on “Competition Law in a Changing Market Order” will be held on 10 January 2027, alongside the declaration of results.
