Call for Papers: 14th International Conference on Labour History by NLSIU and AILH: Submit by October 15!

The Centre for Labour Studies, NLSIU, and AILH invite papers for the 14th International Conference on Labour History.

About the Conference

The Centre for Labour Studies, NLSIU, along with the Association of Indian Labour Historians (AILH), invites papers for the 14th International Conference on Labour History, themed “Labour in the Time of Crises: New Frontiers, Old Challenges”. The conference will be held at NLSIU, Bengaluru, from 11 to 13 March 2027.

Themes

The themes of the conference include:

• Technology, AI, and the Crisis of Agency
• Law, Regulation, and Rights of Labour
• Migration, Agrarian Urbanism, and Global Shocks
• Care Work, Domestic Labour, and Social Identities
• Labour Movements and the Praxis of Resistance

Panel proposals are also welcome.

Submission Guidelines

Interested participants must submit an abstract of 500 words along with a bio-note of 100 words. Submissions and queries may be sent to ailhnlsconference@gmail.com.

Important Dates

• Abstract (500 words) and bio-note (100 words): 15 October 2026
• Notification of acceptance: 30 October 2026
• Full paper: 1 February 2027
• Conference: 11 to 13 March 2027
