All India Human Rights Association (AIHRA) is a civil society organisation working on human rights awareness, legal assistance and social justice. Established in 1987, it runs educational programmes and public awareness initiatives and supports people whose rights have been violated. Its work includes civil liberties and the concerns of marginalised communities. The organisation is based in Delhi.
About the Opportunity
AIHRA is offering a human rights internship for law students interested in constitutional and criminal law, legal research, social justice and public-interest matters. This remote legal internship offers exposure to the organisation’s work on complaints, representations, documentation and legal awareness. The intake has 20 positions.
Mode
The internship is online. This online internship in Delhi is coordinated from AIHRA’s office, while interns participate remotely.

The internship runs for 15 days, beginning October 1, 2026.

No stipend will be provided for this internship.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students pursuing an LL.B. or LL.M. at a recognised university may apply.
- Applications are open to students in any year of their LL.B. or LL.M. programme.
- Interest in human rights law, constitutional law, criminal law, legal research or social justice is relevant to the role.
Roles & Responsibilities
The human rights internship for law students offers exposure to legal and social issues through the following work:
- Researching human rights concerns, cases and grievances.
- Supporting legal research, documentation and the drafting of complaints and representations.
- Participating in legal awareness activities and learning about the work of legal and social organisations.
- Understanding how government authorities, police and courts handle relevant matters.
