About the Opportunity
OUTsurance is looking for a legal intern in South Africa to prepare and pursue recovery claims against municipalities and government entities arising from pothole damage. The role involves gathering evidence, assessing liability and compiling litigation-ready files to maximise recoveries for the insurer and its clients.
The OUTsurance legal internship is suited to graduates who want hands-on exposure to insurance recovery claims and litigation support work.
Location
The internship will be based in Centurion, South Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
- Grade 12/Matric or equivalent
- A completed Bachelor’s degree in LLB, Law, Business Administration, or a related qualification
- Computer literacy, including MS Office
- South African citizenship
- Candidates must not have previously formed part of an internship or learnership with INSETA
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35
- Must be currently unemployed
Roles & Responsibilities
Liability Assessment
Interns will determine whether the government is liable for the damage claimed, forming the basis of each recovery claim.
Evidence Gathering
Interns will gather supporting evidence to substantiate claims pursued against municipalities and other government entities.
Litigation Support
Interns will draft the litigation sheet for the firm, compiling files that are ready for litigation.
