About the Opportunity
DIRECTV is offering a Legal Internship designed to provide law students with professional development and practical experience working alongside in-house counsel.
The Legal Internship will provide participants with exposure to the work of an in-house legal team at a video content distribution company. Interns may work on content distribution agreements, attend depositions and hearings, conduct legal research and draft memoranda across multiple practice areas.
Duration
The Legal Internship will run for 10 weeks.
Program Dates
The Legal Internship is scheduled from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027.
Mode
The Legal Internship will be primarily virtual. In-office work may also be available.
Location
The position is based in El Segundo, California, with potential travel to Los Angeles.

Stipend
The Legal Internship pays $48 per hour.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be at least first-year students enrolled at an ABA-accredited law school.
- Candidates must be in good academic standing.
- Candidates must have full U.S. work authorization now and in the future.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong professional judgment and work ethic.
- Candidates should have a strong interest in the entertainment industry.
Roles & Responsibilities
Legal Research and Drafting
- Conduct legal research across a wide range of practice areas.
- Draft legal memoranda.
- Assist in legal work alongside in-house counsel.
Contractual Work
- Work on content distribution agreements.
- Gain exposure to legal matters relating to content and programming.
Litigation Support
- Attend depositions and hearings.
- Gain practical exposure to litigation-related work.
