About the Opportunity
Cactus Communications is seeking an Intern, Company Secretary & Legal to join its Legal & Taxation team. The selected candidate will work on statutory compliance, corporate governance, legal operations, regulatory filings, contract management, and international compliance across the companyโs Indian and global entities.
The role provides exposure to compliance matters across India, the US, UK, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, China, Switzerland, and other jurisdictions.
Mode
The role is offered by a remote-first organisation; however, the selected candidate must be based in Mumbai and will be required to frequently travel to the Mumbai office.

Eligibility Criteria
- Currently pursuing or recently completed the Company Secretary (CS) course, with Executive or Professional level preferred.
- Pursuing or holding an LL.B. is preferred.
- Approximately 1 year of prior internship experience in a compliance or corporate secretarial function is required.
- Exposure to international compliance will be an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of corporate law, secretarial standards, and statutory regulations, including FEMA and the Companies Act.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational ability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proactive approach and willingness to learn.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word, with comfort using document trackers and repositories.
- Candidates must have legal authorisation to work in the country where the role is advertised.
Roles & Responsibilities
Compliance
- Assist in managing Companies Act, 2013 compliances for Indian entities, including Board meetings, filings, statutory registers, and resolutions.
- Handle event-based filings under the Companies Act, 2013 and FEMA.
- Support FEMA compliances relating to cross-border transactions, including APR filing, ODI reporting, and RBI filings.
Corporate Advisory
- Support statutory and corporate governance activities across Indian and global group entities.
- Gain exposure to jurisdiction-specific governance requirements, filings, and renewals.
Legal Research and Documentation
- Assist in maintaining regulatory and legal records.
- Support audits and due diligence activities.
- Assist with documentation and compliance records across different jurisdictions.
International Compliance
- Support international compliance requirements for group entities in the US, UK, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and other jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments and global teams to streamline compliance operations.
Selection Process
