About GITAM School of Law
GITAM (Deemed to be University) was established in 1980 and has campuses in Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes and focuses on interdisciplinary learning, innovation and research.
The GITAM School of Law was established in 2012 at the Visakhapatnam Campus and is a constituent institution of GITAM (Deemed to be University). The School of Law combines academic study with practical legal education, including moot courts, real-world exposure and interaction with legal professionals.
About the Opportunity
GITAM School of Law is organising the International Conference on Technology, Innovation and Rule of Law – Shaping the Future of Sustainable Development.
The conference will bring together scholars, legal practitioners, policymakers, technologists and researchers to examine how law and legal institutions can respond to technological transformation while preserving justice, accountability, human rights and the rule of law. The conference will adopt an interdisciplinary approach and explore the relationship between technology, regulatory innovation and sustainable, inclusive and rights-based development.
Core Thematic Tracks
Artificial Intelligence, Algorithmic Accountability and Legal Governance
This track examines automated decision-making, algorithmic bias, transparency and explainability in judicial, administrative and public-sector systems. It also considers AI liability, accountability, human oversight, algorithmic harm, generative AI and autonomous AI governance.
Digital Public Infrastructure and Access to Justice
The track focuses on e-courts, digital justice platforms, online dispute resolution and technology-enabled legal aid. It also examines the digital divide, technological exclusion, accessibility, digital literacy and the role of digital public infrastructure in judicial administration and legal services.
Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity Governance
This track covers evolving data protection regimes, consent frameworks, data ownership and accountability. It also examines cybersecurity, surveillance, cross-border data flows, data localisation and international data transfers.
Environmental Law, Climate Technology and Sustainable Governance
The track examines legal and regulatory frameworks governing clean energy, green technologies, carbon markets and climate innovation. It also considers climate litigation, environmental governance and emerging climate technologies in the transition towards sustainable and low-carbon development.
Legal Technology, Automation and the Future of Legal Practice
This track focuses on AI-assisted lawyering, automated legal research, contract automation, e-discovery and technology-enabled legal services. It also considers professional responsibility, confidentiality, accountability, legal education and the future of the legal profession.
Rule of Law, Digital Institutions and Anti-Corruption
The track examines how digital technologies can strengthen transparency, institutional accountability, public participation and integrity in governance. It also addresses digital corruption, automated public administration and technology-enabled mechanisms for preventing corruption, with particular relevance to SDG 16.
Intellectual Property, Innovation and Emerging Technologies
This track considers the implications of AI, biotechnology, synthetic media and other emerging technologies for intellectual property protection, including questions of ownership, authorship, inventorship, infringement and enforcement.
Fintech, Blockchain and Regulatory Innovation
The track covers cryptocurrencies, digital assets, blockchain applications, stablecoins, decentralised financial systems, smart contracts, tokenisation and digital payments. It also considers financial inclusion, consumer protection and systemic risks arising from emerging financial technologies.
Human Rights, Ethics and Technology Governance
This track examines surveillance technologies, facial recognition, biometric systems and algorithmic profiling in relation to privacy and fundamental rights. It also addresses algorithmic discrimination, freedom of expression, equality, non-discrimination, human dignity and democratic values.
International Law, Global Technology Governance and Regulatory Cooperation
The track explores international cooperation, treaty frameworks, regulatory convergence and mechanisms for harmonising technology governance across jurisdictions. It also considers the role of international organisations, regional institutions and global partnerships in technology governance.
Eligibility Criteria
Submissions are invited from:
- Faculty members and academicians.
- Researchers and research scholars.
- Undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Advocates and legal practitioners.
- Corporate professionals and industry experts.
- Scientists, engineers and AI professionals.
- Members of civil society organisations, NGOs and think tanks.
- Government officers and policymakers.
Submissions may address the listed tracks from legal, sociological, psychological, technological, philological or multidisciplinary perspectives.
Submission Guidelines
Abstract Submission
- Abstracts must be submitted through the prescribed Google Form.
- The abstract should not exceed 250 words and should follow the IMRaD method.
- Multiple co-authorship is permitted.
- Submissions should be made as a single Word file.
- The submission must include a title page containing the title of the paper, authors’ full names, institutional affiliations, contact email addresses, selected track number and five keywords.
Full Paper
Authors whose abstracts are accepted will be invited to submit the full paper. The recommended abstract length for the conference proceedings is 200–250 words, with 3–5 keywords. Full papers should follow the Atlantis Press template and be between 4,000 and 8,000 words.
The paper must be original and unpublished and must not be simultaneously submitted elsewhere. The conference specifies an AI-generated content/similarity limit of below 10%. Manuscripts should be submitted in English.
Authors must follow APA 7th edition citation requirements. Every source cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and every reference listed must be cited in the text.
Publication Opportunities
Selected high-quality, peer-reviewed papers will be considered for publication in the Springer Nature–Atlantis Press Conference Proceedings, subject to the publisher’s editorial policies, peer review and publication guidelines. Applicable publication charges will be communicated separately and will be borne by the authors.
Authors opting for publication in the Springer Nature Book Proceedings will be required to pay a publication fee of €70 per paper after acceptance. Only papers that are registered, presented at the conference and accepted through the review process will be forwarded for publication.
Selected abstracts may also be published in an Edited Book of Abstracts with an ISBN at no additional publication charge.

Application Procedure
Interested participants must first submit their abstracts through the prescribed Google Form.
After acceptance, participants must complete the registration process and upload a screenshot of the payment confirmation. Each co-author is required to register separately.
The final paper can be submitted via email to ictirl@gitam.in. The deadline for full paper submission is November 1, 2026.
