About KLE Law College

KLE Law College, Bengaluru, was established in 1975 under the Karnataka Lingayat Education Society. The College offers three-year LL.B., five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. programmes.

The College is recognised by the Bar Council of India and has been a constituent college of KLE Technological University, Hubballi, since 2021.

About the Opportunity

KLE Law College, Bengaluru, is organising the First International Conference on Future of Justice: Crime, Constitution and Technology (KLE-JUSTECH 2027).

The conference will provide a forum for academics, researchers, legal practitioners, policymakers, judges and industry experts to examine contemporary developments at the intersection of emerging technology, constitutional law and criminal law.

The conference will examine how artificial intelligence, mass surveillance, facial recognition, predictive policing, digital forensics, deepfakes, algorithmic risk assessment and automated decision-making are affecting criminal investigation, evidence, adjudication and sentencing.

Theme and Tracks

The theme of the conference is โ€œJustice in the Age of Algorithms: Safeguarding Constitutional Guarantees in a Technologically Transformed Criminal Justice Systemโ€.

The conference will cover the following eight thematic tracks:

  • Policing, Surveillance and the Investigative State
  • Privacy as a Constitutional Guarantee
  • Digital Evidence & Forensics
  • Algorithms in Bail, Sentencing & Adjudication
  • Cybercrime & Criminal Liability
  • Constitutional Rights & Digital Speech
  • Judicial & Legislative Capacity
  • Data Protection, Cross-Border Cooperation and Emerging Frontiers

The conference will be held on January 22โ€“23, 2027.

The conference will be conducted in hybrid mode.

The in-person conference will be held at KLE Law College, Bengaluru.

Submission Guidelines

Abstract

The abstract must be in English and should contain 300โ€“350 words. It should clearly state the research objective, methodology, key findings and contribution.

Acceptance of an abstract does not guarantee acceptance of the full manuscript.

Full Manuscript

The full manuscript should contain 6,000โ€“8,000 words, inclusive of the abstract, references, tables, figures and appendices.

Authorship

A maximum of four authors is permitted per manuscript. At least one author must register for and present the paper at the conference.

Plagiarism

The similarity index must not exceed 10%, excluding references, quoted material and matches of fewer than 14 consecutive words.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

AI tools may be used for copy editing without disclosure. The use of generative AI for substantive writing or generating images is discouraged and must be disclosed. AI tools cannot be listed as authors.

Only original and unpublished manuscripts will be accepted.

Registration will open only after notification of abstract acceptance. Registration is non-transferable and non-refundable.

Publication Charges

An open-access publication charge of โ‚น12,000 per accepted paper will apply after successful double-blind peer review and editorial acceptance. This charge is in addition to the applicable registration fee.

Partial or full publication fee waivers may be considered on a case-by-case basis for eligible authors, including enrolled PhD scholars and certain authors affiliated with or from LDCs or countries affected by armed conflict.

Additional Details

Registration includes a conference kit, access to technical, keynote and plenary sessions, and daily refreshments, breakfast and lunch.

Virtual participants will receive e-certificates and access to virtual sessions. Presenters will receive a Certificate of Presentation, while non-presenting delegates will receive a Certificate of Conference Attendance.

One Best Paper Award and two Best Presenter Awards will be conferred at the Valedictory Ceremony.

Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and local arrangements. No travel grants, airfare reimbursement or visa reimbursement will be provided.

Application Procedure

Abstracts and full manuscripts must be submitted through Microsoft CMT only. Authors must create or use an existing Microsoft CMT account and submit their paper through the KLE-JUSTECH 2027 submission portal.

The online submission requires the paper title, abstract, keywords and other details, along with an anonymised submission prepared using the official template.

Submissions by email or any other mode will not be accepted.

The deadline for abstract submission is September 30, 2026.
