About the Opportunity
The Centre for Environmental Law at the Institute of Law, Nirma University has invited submissions for blogs on contemporary issues in environmental and energy law. The initiative seeks to encourage critical, accessible, and solution-oriented discussions on issues including ozone layer protection, climate litigation, renewable energy transition, and sustainable development.
Selected blogs will be published on the official website of the Centre for Environmental Law, Institute of Law, Nirma University.

The theme for the call is Contemporary Discourses in Environmental and Energy Law.
Practice Areas
Submissions may address areas including:
- Ozone Depletion and Atmospheric Protection Law
- Renewable Energy and the Just Energy Transition
- Climate Change, Carbon Markets, and Climate Litigation
- Air, Water, and Plastic Pollution Regulation
- Environmental Enforcement and Judicial Trends
- Green Finance and Sustainable Development
The listed sub-themes are suggestive, and submissions need not be restricted to them.
Eligibility Criteria
- The call is open to students, academicians, researchers, and professionals with an interest in environmental law and policy.
- Co-authorship is permitted for up to two authors per blog.
Word Limit
The blog should be between 1,000 and 1,500 words, excluding footnotes.
Formatting Guidelines
- The manuscript must not disclose the identity of the author or authors, including their name, institutional affiliation, or professional details, in the body of the manuscript or other properties of the submitted document.
- Violation of the anonymity requirement will result in disqualification from the review process.
- The main manuscript should use Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing, and justified alignment.
- Headings and sub-headings should follow a uniform format.
- Footnotes should follow the 20th edition of the Bluebook.
- Footnotes should use Times New Roman, 10-point font, 1.0 line spacing, and justified alignment.
- Citation hyperlinks should be used where available; otherwise, citations should follow the Bluebook 20th edition.
Plagiarism and Originality
- Authors are required to follow the UGC plagiarism policy applicable to academic submissions.
- Submissions with plagiarism exceeding 15% will be rejected.
- Submissions must be original and must not be under consideration elsewhere for publication.
- Submissions involving plagiarism or copyright issues may be rejected immediately.
Review Process and Editorial Discretion
The editorial board reserves the right to suggest edits, including additions or removals of content, at its discretion. Authors are expected to incorporate the suggested changes within the specified timeframe.
Deadline
Blogs are accepted on a rolling basis.
