About the Opportunity
The 26th Kerala Law Academy National Client Consulting Competition 2026 aims to promote knowledge and interest among law students in practical aspects of law and client consulting. The competition focuses on developing interviewing, planning, and analytical skills in lawyer-client relationships.
The competition will be conducted in two stages. The Virtual Preliminary Round will be held in October 2026, followed by the Offline Advanced Rounds at the Kerala Law Academy campus in November 2026.
Mode
The competition will be conducted in hybrid mode, with the preliminary round held virtually and the advanced rounds conducted offline.
Location
The advanced rounds will be conducted at the Kerala Law Academy campus.
Deadline
The deadline for provisional registration is September 15, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- The competition is open to law colleges, law schools, and university departments in India recognised by the Bar Council of India.
- Students currently enrolled in 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. programmes are eligible.
- Students pursuing LL.M. programmes or correspondence courses are not eligible.
- Multiple teams from the same institution may participate, subject to explicit written permission, such as an authorisation letter from the Principal or Dean.
Team Composition
- Each team must consist of exactly two students acting as co-counsels.
- Solo participation is not permitted.
Prizes
- First Best Team: Justice P. Govinda Menon Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy and ₹50,000 cash prize.
- Second Best Team: Trophy, ₹30,000 cash prize, and Certificate of Merit.
- Third Best Team: Trophy and Certificate of Merit.
- Best Counsel: Trophy, ₹3,000 cash prize, and Certificate of Merit.
- Second Best Counsel: Trophy and Certificate of Merit.
- Best Client (Offline Rounds): Trophy, ₹2,000 cash prize, and Certificate of Merit.
- Second Best Client (Offline Rounds): Trophy and Certificate of Merit.
- All preliminary participants will receive e-certificates, while physical certificates will be provided to offline attendees.

Registration Fee
The Stage 1 registration fee for the preliminary round is ₹3,000 per team and is non-refundable.
Selected teams proceeding to the offline rounds must pay an additional Stage 2 registration fee of ₹2,500 per team without accommodation or ₹3,000 per team with AC dormitory accommodation.

For final registration, teams must submit the online registration form along with payment confirmation by September 28, 2026.
