About the Opportunity
Jus Novum, meaning “New Law,” is a national-level movement hosted by the Moot Court Society, Apex School of Law, Apex University, Jaipur, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Jaipur (District).
Scheduled for August–September 2026 in a hybrid format, Jus Novum includes a Debate Competition for student orators. The competition focuses on legal, constitutional and socioeconomic issues and requires participants to construct arguments, respond to counter-arguments and engage in structured discourse.

The registration fee is ₹600, excluding accommodation.

Eligibility Criteria
- School Students: Open to all bona fide students enrolled in Classes 8 to 12 from any recognised school or educational board.
- Undergraduate Students: Open to students currently pursuing any 3-year or 5-year undergraduate degree from any recognised college or university.
- Postgraduate Students: Open to students enrolled in any postgraduate course across any recognised institution or department.
Roles & Responsibilities
Debate and Advocacy
Participants will engage in competitive debate and present arguments on nuanced legal, constitutional and socioeconomic issues.
Argumentation and Rebuttal
Participants will be required to construct arguments, respond to counter-arguments in real time and participate in structured discourse.
Public Speaking and Critical Analysis
The competition provides participants with an opportunity to develop public speaking, spontaneous rebuttal and critical analysis skills.
Perks
The winner will receive ₹5,000, a trophy and a Certificate of Merit.
The runner-up will receive ₹3,000, a trophy and a Certificate of Merit.
All participants will receive certificates.
