The engagement is initially for one year and may be extended on a year-to-year basis for a maximum tenure of three years, subject to performance appraisal and organisational need.
About the Opportunity
The Ministry of Mines is seeking applications for five Jr. Legal Assistant positions on a contractual basis. The selected candidates will be engaged initially for one year, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of three years. The engagement will not confer any right or claim for regularisation of appointment in the Ministry or Organisation.

Duration
The engagement will initially be for one year and may be extended on a year-to-year basis for a maximum tenure of three years, subject to appraisal of performance and need.
Remuneration
The selected candidates will receive a fixed consolidated remuneration of Rs. 65,000 per month.
Deadline
The completed application, along with relevant documents, must reach the Under Secretary (Establishment), Ministry of Mines, on or before September 25, 2026. Applications may also be emailed by the deadline.
Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognised university and/or institution in India duly recognised by the Bar Council of India.
- The candidate should be qualified to be registered as an advocate in the Bar Council of India in terms of the Advocates Act, 1961.
- The candidate should possess a minimum post-qualification experience of 5-7 years, having worked with Government Departments/PSUs and/or High Courts/Supreme Court of India.
- The candidate must have experience in Court of Law or be an expert in legal matters with sufficient experience working in a government department handling Court matters.
- Experience in dealing with matters related to Mining would be preferred.
- The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc. is essential.
- The maximum age limit is 40 years as on the closing date of the advertisement/notice.
