About Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur
Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur (MNLU Nagpur) is a National Law University established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014. As the nineteenth National Law University in India, it offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes and functions as a fully residential institution with modern facilities for legal education and research.
The conference is being organised by the Centre for International Relations and Governance (CIRG) at MNLU Nagpur in collaboration with the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), New Delhi. CIRG promotes interdisciplinary research on international relations, diplomacy, global governance, and international legal frameworks.
About the Opportunity
The Centre for International Relations and Governance at Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, in collaboration with the Indian Council of World Affairs, is inviting original research papers for its National Conference titled The Decline of the Liberal World Order and Lessons for India.
The conference will be held on 9–10 October 2026 at MNLU Nagpur and will bring together policymakers, diplomats, legal experts, researchers, academicians, and students to examine the changing international order and its implications for India and the Global South. Selected participants will present their papers during thematic sessions, and a curated selection of presented papers will be published in a special edited volume.
Dates
The registration deadline is 30 August 2026.
The manuscript submission deadline is 12 September 2026.
Acceptance of manuscripts will be communicated on 15 September 2026.
Revised manuscripts must be submitted by 30 September 2026.
The conference will take place on 9–10 October 2026.

The conference will be conducted offline at Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur.

Eligibility Criteria
- Professionals, academicians, practitioners, research scholars, administrators, students, social activists, and representatives of governmental and non-governmental organisations may submit papers.
- Manuscripts must be original and unpublished and should not be under simultaneous consideration elsewhere.
- Papers must be between 3,500–5,000 words (excluding endnotes, cover page, table of contents, and annexures, if any).
- Co-authorship is permitted for a maximum of two authors.
- The similarity index must not exceed 12% (excluding references, bibliography, and properly quoted material).
- AI tools may only be used in a limited assistive capacity and must not be used to generate or rewrite any part of the manuscript.
- References must follow the APA 7th Edition citation style.
Roles & Responsibilities
Legal Research
- Conduct original research on the conference theme or one of the prescribed sub-themes.
- Develop a coherent and critically reasoned academic argument supported by relevant legal and policy sources.
Drafting
- Prepare and submit a manuscript in accordance with the prescribed formatting and citation guidelines.
- Revise the manuscript after the acceptance stage and submit the final version within the stipulated deadline.
Presentation
- Present the accepted research paper during the conference sessions.
- Engage in discussions on international relations, global governance, trade, multilateralism, and related legal issues.
