About the Opportunity
JSA is inviting applications for the position of Senior Associate (Real Estate) at its Mumbai office. The role involves title due diligence, property-related legal research, compliance with applicable state laws, registration requirements and RERA regulations.
The selected candidate will also coordinate with external consultants, agents and local counsel and manage documentation relating to real estate transactions.

The position is based in Mumbai.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have 5β7 years of post-qualification experience.
- Candidates should have strong understanding and practical knowledge of land laws and regulations.
- Candidates should be familiar with stamping and registration processes.
- Familiarity with MHADA, MIDC, CIDCO, SRA, DCPR and MCGM regulations is required.
- Candidates should be familiar with state-specific property laws and revenue records.
- Candidates should have hands-on experience in title due diligence.
- Candidates should have demonstrated experience in preparing title reports across multiple property types.
- Candidates should be able to work closely with teams and manage end-to-end documentation for transactions.

Roles & Responsibilities
Title Due Diligence
The Senior Associate will examine revenue records, encumbrance certificates, mutation entries and chain of title documents.
The role will also involve scrutinising sanction plans, approved layouts and construction permissions and identifying title defects, title-related risks, encumbrances and litigation risks.
Title Reports
The selected candidate will prepare detailed title reports based on the findings of title due diligence.
Regulatory Compliance
The role will involve ensuring compliance with applicable state laws, registration requirements and RERA regulations.
Coordination
The Senior Associate will coordinate with external consultants, agents and local lawyers in connection with real estate matters.
Transaction Documentation
The candidate will work closely with teams and manage end-to-end documentation for real estate transactions.
