The Centre for Law and Indigenous Studies, functioning under the School of Law and Humanities, focuses on research and dialogue concerning indigenous communities and legal frameworks. The Centre aims to promote scholarly engagement with indigenous perspectives and contribute to the development of legal systems that respect and integrate indigenous knowledge.

About the Opportunity

The Centre for Law and Indigenous Studies at HNLU Raipur has invited original and unpublished submissions for the forthcoming special edition of Koitur Magazine on the theme “Folklore, Cultural Rights & Indigenous Knowledge Systems.”

The special edition seeks articles, essays, commentaries, case studies, book reviews, and interdisciplinary reflections exploring the relationship between folklore, indigenous traditions, customary knowledge, and contemporary legal and policy frameworks. The publication aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for academicians, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, activists, and students to engage with issues relating to folklore, law, cultural rights, intellectual property, and indigenous knowledge systems.

The last date for submission of manuscripts is August 16, 2026.

Application Procedure

Interested contributors may apply through the following:

  • Submit the manuscript in MS Word (.doc/.docx) format to cslip@hnlu.ac.in.
  • The manuscript should be between 1000 and 1200 words and prepared in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing.
  • Authors must follow the Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th Edition) for citations and references.
  • Include a brief author profile containing:
    • Name
    • Institutional affiliation
    • Designation
    • Official address
    • Email address
    • Contact number
  • The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and should not exceed a 10% similarity index and 10% AI-generated content under recognised plagiarism and AI-detection software.
  • Submit the manuscript on or before August 16, 2026.
