About the DPIIT IPR Chair
The DPIIT IPR Chair was established at NLU Delhi in October 2018 by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The Chair has been instituted with the objective of facilitating intellectual property education, research, policy development, and awareness generation.
The Chair operates under the Scheme for Pedagogy and Research in IPRs for Holistic Education and Academia (SPRIHA), which aims to strengthen intellectual property scholarship and research across academic institutions in India.
About the Job
NLU Delhi is seeking applications for one contractual position of Research Assistant under the DPIIT IPR Chair. The selected candidate will contribute to research, academic, and policy-oriented activities relating to intellectual property rights and associated legal developments.
The position offers an opportunity to work within a nationally significant intellectual property initiative and engage with research projects, academic outputs, and policy discussions concerning intellectual property law.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must satisfy the qualifications and eligibility requirements prescribed by NLU Delhi in the official recruitment notification.
- Applicants with a demonstrated interest in intellectual property law, research, and policy are encouraged to apply.
- Prior research experience in intellectual property law or related areas may be advantageous.
Roles & Responsibilities
Intellectual Property Research
- Assist in research projects relating to intellectual property rights and policy.
- Analyse legislative, judicial, and regulatory developments in intellectual property law.
Academic Support
- Contribute to academic publications, reports, and research outputs.
- Assist in organising seminars, workshops, and academic initiatives under the IPR Chair.
Policy Research
- Support research and policy-oriented projects undertaken under the SPRIHA Scheme.
- Contribute to studies examining contemporary intellectual property challenges and developments.
Documentation & Coordination
- Assist in preparing research materials, reports, and project documentation.
- Support the administration and implementation of activities undertaken by the DPIIT IPR Chair.
