The DNLU Student Law Journal invites submissions for Volume V from students, researchers, academicians, and legal professionals on contemporary legal issues.
About the University
Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur was established under the Madhya Pradesh Dharmashastra National Law University Act, 2018 as a centre for advanced legal education and research. The university promotes multidisciplinary legal scholarship through research centres, academic publications, and practical training initiatives aimed at strengthening legal discourse and institutional learning.
The university publishes two major academic journals, including the faculty-led DNLU Journal of Legal Studies and the student-run DNLU Student Law Journal.

The DNLU Student Law Journal is a peer-reviewed academic publication that promotes interdisciplinary legal research across comparative, global, and transdisciplinary themes. The journal provides a platform for scholarly engagement through research articles, case comments, legislative notes, and book reviews.
The editorial and advisory structure includes academicians and jurists from leading institutions, and the journal maintains strict academic standards including originality requirements and plagiarism safeguards.
Theme
Submissions on any contemporary issue of legal relevance are welcome. The journal accepts interdisciplinary and policy-oriented research across all areas of law.
Categories of Submission
Authors may submit manuscripts under the following categories:
- Long Articles: 4,000–8,000 words
- Short Articles: 3,000–4,000 words
- Case Notes or Legislative Comments: 2,000–3,000 words
- Book Reviews: 1,000–2,000 words
The word limit excludes abstract and footnotes.
Submission Guidelines
Manuscripts must be original and unpublished.
Co-authorship is permitted for up to two authors only. Each author may submit only one manuscript individually or jointly.
Submissions must include an abstract not exceeding 300 words summarising the structure and arguments of the manuscript.
The journal follows a strict zero-tolerance plagiarism policy. Manuscripts must comply with copyright and open-access requirements prescribed by the editorial board.
Non-compliance with submission guidelines may result in rejection at any stage of the review process.
Formatting Requirements
Submissions must follow these formatting standards:
- Main title: Times New Roman, size 14, bold, small capitals, centre aligned
- Headings: Times New Roman, size 12, bold, uppercase
- Sub-headings: Times New Roman, size 12, italics
- Footnotes: Times New Roman, size 10
- Citation style: OSCOLA 4th edition
The manuscript must not contain any identifying information of the author.
Submission Procedure
