6 Min Read

Applications are invited for a litigation internship at the Chambers of Shashank Dixit, Central Government Standing Counsel, Delhi High Court.

About the Office

The Chambers of Shashank Dixit represents the Union of India and its departments before the Delhi High Court in a wide range of constitutional, service, arbitration, and commercial matters. The office regularly appears in cases involving significant public law questions and government-related litigation, making it an important learning environment for students interested in courtroom practice at the High Court level.

Government-side litigation provides a distinctive exposure compared to private disputes, as it involves interpretation of statutory frameworks, constitutional provisions, administrative decisions, and regulatory policies affecting public institutions. Internships in such chambers enable students to observe how legal strategy is developed when representing public authorities and how courts evaluate administrative action within constitutional limits.

The chamber’s work spans multiple branches of law including service law disputes involving public employment, arbitration matters involving government entities, commercial claims, and constitutional challenges to executive action. Exposure to such matters helps interns understand procedural aspects of High Court litigation as well as substantive issues in public law practice.

Through this internship programme, selected candidates will gain structured insight into litigation workflows before one of India’s busiest constitutional courts.

About the Internship

The Chambers of Shashank Dixit is inviting applications from eligible law students for a litigation internship scheduled for April 2026 at its office in Defence Colony, New Delhi. The internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to High Court practice and government litigation through research-based assignments and drafting assistance in ongoing matters.

Selected interns will work closely with the chamber on cases involving constitutional law issues, arbitration disputes, service law matters, and broader public law litigation. Interns will gain familiarity with how petitions are structured, how case files are prepared for hearings, and how written submissions are developed in matters involving the Union Government and its instrumentalities.

The internship is particularly suitable for students interested in constitutional litigation, administrative law practice, and advocacy before High Courts. Exposure to courtroom proceedings and briefing sessions will help participants understand litigation strategy and procedural requirements followed in writ jurisdiction matters.

Participants will also gain experience in analysing case law, preparing research notes, and assisting with documentation required for court filings.
